Our Dad, Tony Trussell.
He was a man who loved a laugh, and could always make you smile...Dad loved to drink and liked nothing more than having a few drinks with his mates and my Brother Simon.
He was very stubborn and set in his ways but that was what made him special. Dad would do anything to help anyone as long as it was before opening time!

I loved my Dad very much, I never knew quite how much to be honest untill he died. We were very similar and often clashed with our point of views, but I hope he realised how much I loved him...

I knew he was ill just never knew quite how ill, the night I called him and he struggled to answer the phone will stay with me forever, he said call me tomorrow I will be fine after a sleep... I am so glad I ignored him and went over their with my Brother.

Dad never wanted to go to hospital he hated the places so at least he was not their for long. Just over 24 hours after we called that ambulance my Dad was gone. And he never wanted to know what was wrong.
Did you know Dad? I will always wonder.
The last thing he said to me was "Don't forget to bring my glasses and paper with you when you come back in the morning"
The nurses told me not to go home, I am so glad I listened..... Dad fell asleep forever 7 hours later with my Brother, Mum and Myself by his side. The 3 people he loved the most.

Night Night Dad I will never forget you

Love you Dad xx

God saw you getting tired
and a cure was not to be.
So He put His arms around you
and He whispered “Come to Me”
With tearful eyes we watched you.
We watched you fade away.
Although we loved you dearly,
We could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
Hard-working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us,
He chose to take the best.
It’s lonesome here without you
we miss you more each day.
Life doesn’t seem the same
since you have gone away.
When days are sad and lonely
and everything goes wrong,
we seem to hear you whisper
“Cheer Up and Carry On”
Each time we see your picture
you seem to smile and say,
“Don’t cry, I’m in God’s hands,
we’ll meet again someday
